Gelan & Rebeka Swift

                                            We are Gelan and Rebeka Swift, writers of musical theatre. We came to be in 2003 when came to

                                   audition as a singer. I thought her voice was very theatrical, and she thought the same of my songs.

                                   Although we played with the idea of writing a musical, we really didn't give it any further thought

                                   until Rebeka was near completion of her of her now published novel Highly Strung. We'd both 

                                   come to love the characters she had brought to life, and a sequel was definitely on the cards. My

                                   initial idea of having the Eurovision Song Contest as the theme was quickly dismissed, as we found

                                   a whole new storyline. But a musical needs songs, so we decided to have the song contest as a thread

                                   rather than the theme, giving us a heartfelt story with moving and melancholic ballads, coupled with 

                                   high farce and comedy, much reflected in the more up tempo numbers. Hopefully A song for Europe

                                   has something for everyone.
